Terms of service
Last updated
Use references you are allowed to access, own the footage you upload, and do not abuse the service. We will run EditDNA as well as we can and tell you the truth about what it does.
What EditDNA does
EditDNA measures the structure of a reference video — cut timing, scene duration, and where enabled, framing — and helps you rebuild that structure using your own footage. See references & copyright for what that does and does not involve.
It is in controlled beta. Features may change, limits may change, and things may break. We will not describe a capability as working when it is not.
Your account
You need an account to save work. Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your email, so keep access to that inbox — anyone who can read it can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has.
You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.
Your content
Your footage stays yours. Uploading it gives us permission to store and process it only to provide the service — analyse it, render it, and show it back to you. Nothing more.
We do not train models on it, do not use it to promote EditDNA, and do not share it with anyone except the providers listed in privacy.
You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload and to any reference you submit.
What you may not do
- Submit references you are not permitted to access, or use EditDNA to work around a platform’s access controls
- Upload content you have no right to use
- Upload material that is illegal, or that sexualises children — accounts doing so are removed and reported
- Attempt to access another user’s projects, media, or account
- Probe, overload, or circumvent limits, or resell access to the service
We can suspend or remove an account that does these things, and we do not owe a refund for one removed on these grounds.
Availability
We aim to keep EditDNA running and your saved work intact, but this is a beta on modest infrastructure. There is no uptime guarantee. Download exports you care about. Retention windows are in privacy, and they are short by design.
Payment
Subscription terms, allowances, renewal, and cancellation are set out in billing & cancellation.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe
EditDNA is provided as it is. We do not warrant that analysis will be accurate, that a result will suit your purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it arose. We are not liable for lost profits, lost footage, or consequential loss. This does not limit anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You can stop using EditDNA at any time and delete your account — see deleting your data. We may end an account for the reasons above, or discontinue the service with reasonable notice so you can export your work.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we will date this page and tell account holders. Continuing to use EditDNA after that means the new terms apply.
Questions
Ask through support. A question about what these terms mean is a fair question and we would rather answer it.
